Vietnam has significant resource endowment advantages, and rare earth and energy minerals drive long-term potential. Vietnam's mineral resources are highly concentrated, with the north dominated by energy and ferrous metals, and the south characterized by bauxite and gold mines. Coal resources are mainly concentrated in Quang Ninh Province, with proven reserves of high-quality anthracite coal of about 3.4 billion tons, accounting for 89.5% of the country's total reserves. Among them, Hong Gai Coal Mine is the largest coal mine in Southeast Asia, and its annual production capacity supports Vietnam's emergence as a regional energy exporter. Among metal minerals, rare earth resources are particularly prominent. The light rare earth reserves in the northwest mineralization belt account for a high proportion of the world, and are concentrated in the apatite symbiotic mineral belt in the Lao Cai-Yan Bai area, which has the conditions for low-cost open-pit mining. In addition, the bauxite reserves in the Central Highlands region are as high as 12 billion tons, and the reserves in a single province of Denong Province reach 2.5 billion tons. The medium-grade ore is suitable for existing smelting technology. If the transportation bottleneck is solved in the future, it can become a key supplement to the global aluminum supply chain.

The Vietnam construction market size was US$74.88 billion in 2025 and is expected to reach US$107.53 billion in 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 7.51%. The combination of strong public spending, expanding foreign direct investment, and growing housing demand has kept Vietnam’s construction market on an upward trajectory. Commercial jobs are shifting to Class A offices and lifestyle malls that cater to growing consumer incomes. Industrial and logistics construction has been upgraded with foreign direct investment in manufacturing clusters, supporting export growth.

Highway extensions account for more than 60% of total infrastructure value and unlock inland manufacturing hubs. The $67 billion North-South High Speed ​​Rail will be anchored to an ongoing contractor backlog beyond 2030. Utility projects integrate LNG, solar and wind investments to double generation capacity and attract specialist players. These undertakings have redefined the Vietnamese construction market as a platform for complex, multi-year projects requiring strict cost and quality governance.
